Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RewriterApp website at rewriterapp.com and the free typing tests, typing games and related browser-based tools provided on the site (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

About the Service

RewriterApp provides free typing practice tools including speed tests, accuracy games and personal progress tracking. The Service runs primarily in your web browser. No account registration is required. Typing scores and related records are stored locally in your browser unless you choose to export them.

Eligibility

You may use the Service if you are legally able to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You may use RewriterApp for personal, educational and non-commercial practice, subject to these Terms. You agree not to:

No professional advice

RewriterApp is provided for general typing practice and entertainment. WPM figures, accuracy percentages and game outcomes are informational only. We do not guarantee that use of the Service will improve your typing speed, employability, academic performance or productivity. The Service does not provide educational, medical, legal or career advice.

Your data and local records

Your game results, settings and progress are stored in your browser's localStorage. You are responsible for managing, backing up and deleting that data. Exported backup files are your responsibility once downloaded. Records do not automatically transfer between browsers or devices. See our Privacy Policy for more information.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, original typing passages, graphics and layout, is owned by RewriterApp or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for personal use as intended.

You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, lease or create derivative works from the Service or its content except where allowed by law or with our prior written permission.

User content

The Service does not invite users to upload written content for publication. Typing input is processed locally in your browser for gameplay and scoring. We do not claim ownership over text you type during ordinary use of the games.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep RewriterApp available and working well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including game modes, content libraries, features or supported browsers, with or without notice.

Third-party services

The Service is designed to operate without requiring third-party JavaScript frameworks or external game engines. Your browser, operating system and internet connection are required to access the site. We are not responsible for third-party software, devices or networks outside our control.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REWRITERAPP DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, SECURE, CURRENT OR FREE FROM ERRORS.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REWRITERAPP AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AFFILIATES AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ZERO, BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RewriterApp and its owners, operators and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may restrict or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or used the Service in a harmful way. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which RewriterApp operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If a dispute arises, courts in that jurisdiction may have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
